Nike+ Connect was a desktop software application and interface developed by Nike to bridge legacy wearable devices to the online Nike+ (NikePlus) fitness ecosystem. Acting as a crucial hardware-to-cloud link, the Connect app was primarily designed to support devices like the Nike+ FuelBand, Nike+ SportWatch GPS, and Nike+ SportBand. Core Features
Data Transfer: Allowed users to plug their legacy fitness trackers directly into a Mac or Windows PC via USB to upload workout logs and daily activity data to their Nike+ profile.
Firmware Updates: Pushed critical software and performance updates to the devices themselves.
Personalization: Served as the initial setup hub where users configured their height, weight, daily activity targets, and watch display preferences.
Goal Tracking: Transmitted activity data so users could review lifetime stats, compete in challenges, and earn “NikeFuel”. Status & Legacy
Nike+ Connect is no longer supported or active. On April 30, 2018, Nike retired the software and support services for all of its legacy wearable hardware, including the FuelBand. When the service was discontinued, the desktop software was rendered permanently inoperable and data syncing was halted.
Today, Nike has phased out these proprietary wearable devices in favor of software-only tracking through the universally used Nike Run Club (NRC) and Nike Training Club (NTC) apps, which connect seamlessly with smartphones and modern smartwatches (like the Apple Watch and Garmin devices).
